Dr. Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind, p. 4
While at school, babies will typically drink from bottles. Bottles need to come prepared and all pieces need to be labeled with first and last name.
When children are independently sitting and are ready for solid food (usually between 6-8 months), we will ask families to pack solids for their baby. We follow the Feeding Littles Philosophy regarding eating at all levels at Bella.
Diapers and wipes are provided by families. We ask that you bring a two week supply. We will let you know when we are running low.
Diapers are changed when wet. We use this time as a connection piece. We take the stress out by doing an I Love You Ritual with the child, then talking through our diapering routine together.
Part of Montessori Philosophy is the Freedom of Movement. At Bella, children sleep on floor beds. This allows them to get on and off their beds when they wish.
For nap, the families provide a blanket that stays at school. Muslin material is preferred. Nap Laundry is done weekly in house.
At Bella we believe in following the child. Babies tell us what they need, we just need to listen.
A typical schedule looks like this, but can vary depending on each child.
8:30am: Arrival
8:30-10:30am: Work Cycle
10:30am: Nap
11:45am: Lunch
12:00-1:30pm: Work Cycle
1:30: Nap
3:00pm: Pick Up
